Foreign Medical Graduate Screening Examination is scheduled to take place on 8th of December 2015 as per the released notification. The exam, conducted by National Board of Examination (NBE), takes place twice in a year; June and December. FMGE is an online test managed by Prometric and will be conducted across 27 cities in India. This is a qualifying exam for the students, Indian as well as International, who have completed their MBBS degree and want to practice as doctors.
There is an exception to the eligibility criterion. The candidates who have completed their MBBS or an equivalent degree from Canada/New Zealand/ Australia/United Kingdom/United States of America need not qualify FMGE 2015. FMGE is a computer based exam. It will comprise of two tests, each of 150 marks. The minimum qualifying percentage has been set as 50%. The first paper will be related to Pre & Para Clinical subjects like Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pathology etc whereas the second paper will be based on clinical subjects like Pediatrics, General Surgery etc.
Students will have to register through Prometric for this test. The biggest advantage the candidates would have is that the examination would not carry any negative marking for a wrong answer. This is hinting that the number of candidates taking the exam would be huge. Prometric ensures that all the measures are in place so that the candidates have a hassle free competitive experience. We employ biometric verification methods to maintain candidate identity. This leaves no chance for the candidates to cheat in the exam.
